Hello, we would like to report to you one case of serious violation of animal rights, on bears. When going to Prokoško Lake, near Fojnica, during our vacation, we stopped at a small café (pond) located on the gravel road Gornji Vakuf (Meade) – Fojnica, before the junction that separates the path to Novi Travnik and Twelve.

In the garden cafe, next to the pool, 15 meters from the chairs and tables, are bound two bears. Bound chains are extremely short, only a meter to a meter and a half, and looked very nervous during our sitting in a cafe. As proof we send you a picture taken from the garden.

I sincerely hope that you can arouse public attention and help the bears, which in this case, only the equipment and used “boss” coffee as cheap advertising. Otherwise, this part of the road is extremely bad, low traffic gravel road, although in more recent maps of Bosnia and Herzegovina marked as a regional road (which has not yet been built). Please let us know the steps and actions that you intend and what you can do in this case.

No more delay. For this case of severe violence against the bears we know from the first day of their captivity. We warned competent at the time of their capture, and spoke with the competent authorities to inform them that a business man, Fahrija, had just as easily conceived t keep the bears at a pond. At that time was not yet in force the law on protection and welfare of animals and we had to listen to the nonsense and promises that we Fahrija poured, the powerful boss and that they will do all right and that will keep them as your born to love animals and all kinds of lies about a happy hosting. Shame you were Fahrija. Is this to your humane attitude? Do you think torture of these two things?
It is sad it can not be certain that local media were bears seen only as a preferred attraction and living advertisement of Fahrijine basement in Mt. Attached is a pair of such a boom, just as a mere indicator of pseudo journalism that cause general damage as a journalist and aspirations of the humanization of relations between the environment, animals and nature.
Pathetic is the fact that until now no one and nothing is taken for the salvation of bears that are already from a lost local attractions and advertising material in the region of of gornji vakufsk with a beautiful untouched nature and great monuments as well as human resources.

We have competent leaders warned more than a year on the consequences of illegal, inhuman attitude of the two cubs when the poor had only three months and 30 pounds. Unfortunately they can not be returned to nature and free them back to nature is forever lost . How to solve this case and remain a man? Of course not hunting, “Merciful” methods that are the basis of this problem.
BiH does not have a reception center for rehabilitation of animals as well as other countries in the environment. And even Romania and Bulgaria took care to build such centers. And we stay in our darkness and silence. Our initiative is in cooperation with the NOA group of companies. We’ll create in BiH
Rehabilitation Center for Animals in which we’ll work diligently at the international level with the support of leading experts in this field in the EU. Our project manager is working on the necessary resources required for such a realization.

This pair of cubs do not have much time to wait so long, around their necks is a tight chain which occurs wounds.
Nobody adjusts these tight chains in accordance with the development of the young bears, and it’s impossible to do that without help of professional care.
The bears by nature are progressing rapidly and grow every day more and more. It’s an inhumane solution from the owner of the place, Fahrija, who does not even think that makes the nature of the crime and that it is an animal torture, a punishable offense and this and that on this world.

This situation requires urgent humanitarian intervention, the liberation and the transfer of the bears in an appropriate placement of a reception center.
The danger is greater every day, chains grow in the body and neck, and must be urgently removed.
Lightheadedness strengthened by the pond owner’s basement and our national, state shame,
but also the duty of all institutions and citizens and not just societies to protect animals. Irresponsible behavior by the “owner” shall be subject to punishment according to several laws of BiH.
Pathetic is that some media wrote about the torture of animals as it is a normal phenomenon. Glorifying the torture of animals at the same time it served as the education of young people accepted as a general model of behavior.

This content is intended to launch a joint campaign for the release of bears and their placement in a rehabilitation center.
Bear lives on any basis can not be brought anyhow .Aany threat to their survival and rescue operation will be submitted by the applicable registration laws of BiH.

In the early morning hours of June 11, 2009, certain type of poison was spread throughout Visegrad city, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with one purpose only – killing stray dogs and feral cats. Later in the day, workers in the local public enterprise JKP Komunalac collected and transported their corps to the city waist depo located about 2km from the center of Visegrad, right above Water Power Plant on Drina river. The same happened on June 12, 2009. According to unofficial and unconfirmed rumors spread among the local population, the poisoning was done by the Vet Station in Visegrad. No one informed the citizens about this either by media or in any other way” – this is a message we received from disturbed and bitter citizens of Visegrad, along with photos taken on the same day. It is not clear now many dogs and cats were killed then.
Our wish is to inform local and international audience about this event. Those who ordered and implemented the poisinung broke the following laws in cruel and uncivilized way:
· Animal Protection and Welfare laws of both Republika Srpska (RS) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)
· Veterinary Laws of both Republika Srpska (RS) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)
· Law on Environmental Protection
· Law on Public Peace and Order
· Veterinary Ethics Code
We have forwarded a letter to the Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry and Waters requesting investigation and identification of responsible person and their strong punishment.
We are sorry to inform you that even 6 months after the RS Law about Animal Welfare and Protection was adopted, no one in RS is serious about need for implementation of the same so therefore the traditional, horrible relations towards animals are still in use. Local communities when it comes to resolving issues related to stray animals so none of the RS municipalities has resolved this issue in a satisfactory and civilized manner.
Visegrad, as well as remaining 15 towns that signed the Declaration of European cities has to understand that their by doing so they also took some obligations, one of which for sure is implementation of the Law on Animal Welfare and Protection as well as UN Declaration about Animal Rights.
